Carolyn Terrell is a community-focused small business advocate dedicated to supporting underrepresented entrepreneurs and strengthening economic opportunity across the region. With a background in business support, relationship-building, and community engagement, she helps business owners connect to critical tools, knowledge, and partnerships that promote long-term growth. Carolyn is committed to creating inclusive pathways for success and elevating the voices of small business owners within the Asian Chamber of Commerce network.


Role Overview
Carolyn Terrell supports the Colorado Asian Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Initiative, by serving as a regional connector, advocate, liaison and resource guide for Asian small businesses in Colorado’s Western Slope, Grand Junction, CO. The Small Business Initiative focuses is strengthening entrepreneurship within Asian-owned communities. Carolyn works closely with small business owners to understand their challenges, connect them to essential resources, and strengthen the ecosystem of support across their region. Carolyn collaborates with small business owners, local governments, community organizations, educational partners, and economic development groups across the region.
 

Community Stakeholders & Connections
• Asian small business owners in various industries: retail, service, professional, and food
based.
• Local chambers of commerce and SBDC/incubator, economic development organizations.
• City, County, and Federal agencies engaged in small business procurement/contracting.
• Educational and upskilling partners provide bilingual or culturally relevant training and
assistance.
 

Strategic Plans & Priorities for 2026
Carolyn’s focus is on expanding outreach, improving access to capital, providing more educational workshops, and building a stronger referral network so entrepreneurs can easily access the right support at the right time.

 Priorities for 2026 include:
• Engage directly with local Asian business owners to assess needs and provide guidance.
• Build partnerships with chambers, nonprofits, cities, and lenders.
• Help business owners navigate funding resources, training, and certification opportunities.
• Promote workshops, mentorship, and community programs that support business growth.
