    Whitnee Walker-Giles
    Public Relations and Cultural Affairs, Consulate-General of Japan in Denver

    Ms. Walker-Giles has been working at the Japanese Consulate for two years. Initially, she was in charge of Political Affairs but as of summer 2016 she is in charge of Public Relations and Cultural Affairs. She spent most of her childhood living overseas, the majority of which were spent living in Japan where she attended Japanese public schools from kindergarten through second year junior high. She also studied abroad at Kanazawa University for one year during college. Ms. Walker-Giles graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Japanese from Tufts University in Massachusetts. That same summer, she became a participant in the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program where she spent three years working as a Coordinator for International Relations (CIR) for Osaka City Government.

    Senior Partner at Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie LLP

    Richard “Dick” Clark, a Senior Partner at the Denver Office of Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie LLP, is one of the heads of the law firm’s International Services Group which covers all 10 of the firm’s offices in the Western US. He has successfully handled international transactions and resolved international disputes regarding business and trade with Japan since the early 1980s. Currently he and the firm represent more than 60 Japanese companies, and he serves as legal counsel to the Japanese Foreign Ministry in the Rocky Mountain Region. His experience includes export controls, import duties, distribution agreements and networks, foreign manufacturing and fabrication, theft of trade secrets, product liability claims, international financing arrangements, mergers and acquisitions, entity selection, contract rights and remedies, internet and website issues, infringement of trademarks and patents, foreign trade zones, and treaty application disputes. In January 2017, Mr. Clark was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette from the Emperor of Japan for his many contributions to goodwill and trade and business between the US and Japan.
