Name: CU Denver Rosa Parks Diversity Awards
    Date: April 30, 2015
    Time: 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM MDT
    Event Description:
Sparking the modern Civil Rights movement in the United States by refusing to give up her bus seat, Rosa Parks arrest for breaking Montgomery segregation laws started a boycott of the city bus line that lasted 381 days. This eventually led to the 1956 Supreme Court ruling declaring segregation illegal on public buses. In the spirit of Rosa Parks, The Rosa Parks Diversity Committee at CU Denver selects students, staff, faculty, departments, and community/organizations as recipients of the Rosa Parks Diversity Award.

In honor of Rosa Parks' legacy as a champion for Civil Rights, the University of Colorado Denver’s Educational Opportunity Programs office is pleased to present the CU Denver Rosa Parks Diversity Award. This award recognizes faculty, staff, students, and community members/organizations who help to accomplish the university’s strategic priority to enhance diversity university-wide and foster a culture of inclusion on campus and/or within the surrounding community. We will present two awards in each category (faculty, staff, student, and community) at an awards luncheon on April 30, 2015, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm in Tivoli 320's ABC on the Auraria Campus.

Our own Chamber President/CEO, Clarence Low, will be receiving this wonderful award!  Please join us at this event to celebrate his recognition!
