    Executive Director, Emily Griffith Technical College
    EGTC Campus
    Traditional 235 work days
    Salary Range: Commensurate with Experience
      
    Essential Functions and Objectives:
    –  The Executive Director provides visionary leadership by articulating the mission, vision, strategic plan, goals and objectives of Emily Griffith Technical College (EGTC). This position oversees all instructional, fiscal, and operational functions of the technical college, with oversight from the Denver Public Schools (DPS) Administration and Board of Education, the Council on Occupational Education (COE), the Colorado Department of Higher Education, and the Colorado Community College System (CCCS).
    –  Lead a team of workforce educators, while building a strong internal culture in supporting student access and success within the programs at the college.
    –  Maintain and support collaboration efforts between EGTC and key internal and external partners, including CCCS and other higher education institutions developing credit and transfer opportunities for EGTC students, and collaborating with DPS to develop and offer high-opportunity pathways for secondary students via concurrent enrollment and CareConnect (CTE programming).
    –  Work with CDHE and the Colorado legislative process to ensure fiscal stability for the institution via higher education allocation funding
    –  Serve as a quasi-lobbyist and advocate for CTE with the state legislature to ensure continued support and funding for Area Technical Colleges
    –  Ensure EGTC maintains appropriate accreditation that supports the mission and vision of the school and meets Department of Education criterion for Title IV
    –  Develop and maintain an active program of search and solicitation for alternative funding and resources (contract training, grants, business and industry partnerships, and the Emily Griffith Foundation)
    –  Develop a strong political base with external stakeholders to assure that EGTC maintains a positive and highly visible public profile
    –  Oversee fiscal, budget, and operational functions of the College ensuring sound fiscal stewardship
    –  Oversee development and implementation of creative strategies for marketing and public relations promoting the EGTC
    mission, programs, and services, including service on external boards and committees
    –  Demonstrate a strong commitment to and oversee continuous evaluation and improvement of the instructional curriculum and delivery that fosters student achievement, growth, and employability
    –  Lead the development and implementation of a robust strategic plan that builds upon the mission and vision of EGTC.
    –  Promote and embody a positive customer service philosophy for EGTC and staff
    –  Interpret, implement, and maintain the integrity of DPS policies and procedures, Board of Education policies, administrative practices and procedures, and negotiated contracts applicable to EGTC.
    –  Serve on the Emily Griffith Foundation Board, ensuring a tight linkage within across the organizations’ strategic plans, and assisting in fundraising support for EGTC
    –  Support the Emily Griffith High School principal and staff in developing CTE pathways and opportunities for students
    –  Direct, evaluate, and support the EGTC senior management team and other direct reports, and maintain a positive work culture for EGTC.
    –  Communicate information timely and effectively to the management team, staff, and faculty maintaining a collaborative work environment
    –  Oversee development and implementation of an effective professional development plan to foster innovation, and ensure a highly skilled staff committed to continuous professional growth
     
    –  Oversee a place of employment and education that is safe, free of bias, and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
     
    –  Perform other duties as assigned
     
     Knowledge and other Qualifications:        
    –  Knowledge of higher education practices and policies
    –  Demonstrated record of understanding budgets and fiscal management
    –  History of seeking and securing funding through grants, business and industry donations, or alternative funding
    –  Demonstrated knowledge of working with legislative and government agencies and processes
    –  Demonstrated ability working with a diverse body of students and staff
    –  Excellent written and oral communication skills
    –  Knowledge and commitment to continuous quality improvement
                                               
    Education and Licensure Requirements:
    –  Master’s degree or higher in Education or related field required
    –  Previous experience in CTE
    –  Experience in higher education and workforce development and training preferred
    –  Work experience in business or industry preferred
